BugMeNot.com

When folks send me links to NY Times news stories or YouTube videos and I click on them and get a registration form, I just close the window and move on. I'd like to read the story, but I already have 50 or 60 logins to keep track of for websites I need to use regularly. I'm not looking to add another. I could use a fake email address from 10MinuteMail.com to register, but I would still have to slog through all the screens for the registration. I'd rather not. So, I miss out on a story or video here and there. I can live with it.

Now I don't have to. BugMeNot.com allows you to use an existing login id/password instead of filling out all those screens to get your own registration. Just paste the URL into the box at the top of the webpage and hit "Get Logins" and you'll see a list to choose from. Or, if you don't, you can be the nice guy, create one and add it to the BugMeNot database for the next guy.

There is a companion site, RetailMeNot.com, for sharing coupon codes. I didn't check it out. I'll leave that to The Woman. Perhaps she'll report back.

Hey - new here to your blog (hello, my name is Heather and all that blogaholic nonsense). Thanks for the tip. Thanks especially for that overheard at the office link. Oh, the laughter.

Thanks for stopping by. OverheardInTheOffice is one of my favorites, although the incidence of adult material increased immediately after I posted it. Think there's a link, there?

By the way, we bought the warranty. But here's a weird thing: Saturn has a deal where you buy the warranty, but if you don't use it, you get your money back. So they basically say, "Let us hold your $1,500 for 6 years. Then we'll give it back." Weird, huh?

I see you and I share an appreciation for Lisa Samson's work, especially "The Living End" and "Straight Up", although I list "The Living End" higher. Although I only read "Straight Up" in an early draft and haven't read the released version, yet.

Check out the FredBooks, let me know what you think.

Forgot to tell you. I read one of the Fred books. Oh, which one? Forgive me, I couldn't remember titles if you pulled off my fingernails one by one. The one where he moved to Fred. Loved it. Laughed heartily. My parents moved to east texas while i was in college, so i could relate to the oddities.
